- Asia's biggest tank farm in Singapore equipped with 32 Leistritz screw pumps
One of the world's most important tank farms on Jurong Island in Singapore was fitted with Leistritz screw pumps in 2007. These are the biggest of their kind ever to have been built by Leistritz. The capacity of the double flow, twin screw pumps is between 1,500 and 2,000 m³ per hour.
The scope of delivery comprises preassembled complete systems consisting of the pump, electric motor and instrumentation on a common base frame.
The pumps convey various crude oil products from 73 storage tanks to oil tankers that supply the Asian oil market. The pumps were commissioned by Leistritz specialists from installation at the beginning of 2008.
Leistritz hopes to receive follow-up orders from the Asian region through this equipment of the ultramodern tank farm.
The equipment for this tank farm was a technical challenge since the dimensions of this facility eclipsed anything that had been planned, installed and commissioned up until then. The tank farm covers an area the size of several football pitches. So you can imagine how long the piping is that connects the tanks to the loading and unloading station in the port.
The delivered pumps load the ships that transport semi-finished and finished pre-refined products (so called black and white products), primarily to China. Great store is hereby placed on low pulsation and low vibration operating states for the pumps.
