There are many variants for compressor and turbine blades, and they can be manufactured from an extremely wide variety of types of Cr - steel, titanium alloys, nickel based or cobalt based alloys. Thus, general design characteristics, required numbers, and the time allowed for production are significant for the decision about which manufacturing process provides the optimum solution.
